Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Samajwadi Party (SP) have announced a pre-poll alliance for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. RLD president Jayant Singh Choudhary, while talking to NDTV, said that it was the farmers’ protest and the government’s reaction to it was a turning point for his party. “They wasted farmers’ time for a year. The farmers’ protest was not the reason for the economic slowdown, it was the Centre’s decision that affected the economy,” he said.
