Nothing beats a mother’s love, and now to prove it, a video of a three-legged mother crocodile taking care of her young and building a nest for them is gaining traction online. In this video shared on Facebook, it can be seen that the crocodile’s mother takes away her babies limping in the nest.
The caption of the post read, “She made this big nest with sticks, twigs etc and now she is protecting her babies with just 3 limbs with her life.”
“If that doesn’t show you how incredibly attractive and resilient these creatures are, I don’t know what will. They are completely misunderstood. Living with your babies for two years after hatching shows just that . I felt so blessed to see this,” it added.

In the meantime, talking to newsweekColeman M. Sheahy, a veterinarian at the Florida Museum of Natural History, reported that alligators “develop extremely well” in parental care. “Mothers build nests, protect the nests from predators, and incubate the nests within acceptable range of temperatures,” Mr. Coleman said.
“This level of protection helps more babies survive,” he said. The vet explained that the gharial system has the advantage of providing parental care in that it increases the chances of some of the offspring becoming adults and, thus, the female successfully transmits her genetic information to future generations.
