Two climate activists vandalized a wax statue of King Charles III at Madame Tussauds in London on Monday. Video footage posted on social media showed two protesters wearing Just Stop Oil T-shirts posing a cake to a living model of the British monarch.
The clip, shared on Just Stop Oil’s Twitter page, showed the pair walking up to a waxwork of King Charles III, standing next to statues of Queen Consort Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton. He was seen taking off his black clothes to show off a white ‘Just Stop Oil’ T-shirt. Moments later, a worker was heard shouting “action time” before throwing a chocolate cake over the statue.

The campaign group wrote on Twitter: “Two supporters of Just Stop Oil have covered a wax model of King Charles III’s Madame Tussauds with chocolate cake, demanding that the government stop all new oil and gas licenses and consents ”

According to independentProtesters addressed the crowd after the protest, with one of them saying, “The demand is simple. Just Stop Oil is a piece of cake”.
On the other hand, the Metropolitan Police, which responded quickly to the incident, said that four people have been arrested for criminal damages after the protest.
Monday’s incident is the latest in action by activist groups across Europe. On Sunday, two protesters pelted stones A Monet on Mashed Potatoes $110 million painting in Germany. The Barberini Museum said that since the painting was enclosed in glass, the activists did no harm.

Earlier this month, Just Stop Oil protesters sprayed orange paint at a Harrods showroom in central London. A video shared on social media showed two protesters spraying orange paint on the windows of a luxury department store. The activists also staged a sit-in with banners at Knightsbridge. Some of the protesters stuck themselves to the road and locked themselves together.
Just Stop Oil has warned that its protests will continue until their demand for the termination of all new oil and gas licences is met by the UK government.
