The US National Weather Service confirmed that it was indeed a “funnel cloud”.
A large funnel-shaped cloud formation at Walt Disney World Florida, US, stunned and worried guests as it appeared in dark skies over a theme park this week.
Video captured by a visitor at Disney World shows ominous clouds forming over Epcot — one of the Florida resort’s four theme parks — on Thursday. Sharing the footage on Twitter, the user wrote in the caption, “No lines on this ride.”

However, the US National Weather Service (NWS) reported on Twitter that it was actually a “funnel cloud”. Tampa Bay’s NWS station commented, “Looks like it might be a funnel cloud, it’s hard to tell if there’s any twisting in the video.”
According to independentDark clouds covered most of the sky, but there was no severe weather warning for the day. Citing Jonathan Cage, a metrologist, the outlet also pointed out that the Disney cloud may be a “scud cloud,” more jagged and wispy than a smooth-looking funnel cloud.
“It could just be a scud cloud, which is a jagged cloud that gets sucked into the updraft of a thunderstorm,” Mr Cages said. “Often, Scud is incorrectly identified as a funnel cloud or tornado,” he said.

The metrologist also reported that funnel and scud clouds can turn into tornadoes, but this did not happen on Thursday. Funnel Cloud didn’t cause any damage to the theme park or nearby resorts, but it did cause an uproar.
