She added, “I wondered if I had to watch a different kind of film. Maybe I wasn’t seeing success because I wasn’t doing so-called ‘traditional’ films. But all the films I did, and those that didn’t work, Of those that were not women-centric films, they did the worst. I had seven doubles. Calling them flops breaks my heart, but I had seven films that didn’t. So, out of those, two films that did. The least worked, they were male protagonists. So, I told myself no, there’s no math to this. It’s about a good movie. In my mind, I made that note, decided I just needed to be authentic. There should be and these options should continue.”
