Vigilance officers conducted raids to stop hoarding of edible oil

Officials of Vigilance and Enforcement Wing conducted raids on hoarding of edible oil by unscrupulous traders at various places in the city and district on Monday.

They found that a wholesaler had unauthorizedly stored 47,141 liters of cooking oil. Its price has been estimated at Rs 50 lakh. A criminal case has been registered against the accused wholesaler by confiscating the oil. Raids were also conducted in Yelamanchili, Anakapalle and Poorna Market areas of the city and a total of 17 cases were registered.

Vigilance CI Koteshwar Rao and his team conducted raids under the guidance of Vigilance and Enforcement Additional SP G Swaruprani. Officials of Civil Supplies Department and Food and Security Department also participated in the raid.
