Viral photo: Bangalore man sets desktop at coffee shop as office floods

“Is Bengaluru the latest city with toxic corporate culture?” Internet user asked.

While it is not uncommon to find people working on their laptops in coffee shops, the recent floods in Bengaluru forced a man to take his desktop to a cafe.

Twitter user Sanket Sahu shared a picture of a man, working from a coffee shop in Bengaluru, where he set up his desktop on a table. In the caption, Mr Sahoo claimed that a group was dealing with a “full desktop setup” from ‘Third Wave Coffee’ as their offices were flooded.

Sharing the picture on September 7, a Twitter user wrote, “I saw a group working from Third Wave Coffee with “a full desktop setup” as their offices are flooded.”

This picture has caused a lot of regret on social media since it was shared. “It would make sense if the monitor was used as an external screen with a laptop,” wrote one user. “Legal ride-or-die situation,” said another.

Some Internet users also pointed to the deeper problem of toxic “hustle culture”. “It’s really bad. Is Bangalore the latest city with toxic corporate culture?” One user said. “I don’t think we should romanticize it. It’s really sad,” commented another.
