The woman said that her bag was torn, due to which she bought the Swiggy bag.
Lucknow:
A burqa-clad woman, simply known as Rizwana, is the latest sensation on social media as she delivers disposable goods on foot in Swiggy delivery bags. According to sources, she comes from a poor family and lives in a one-room house in Janta Nagri Colony on Jagatnarayan Road, Lucknow.
She does not work for Swiggy, the online food delivery chain, and has only bought bags with the brand name to deliver disposable items. She said that her bag was torn because of which she decided to buy a Swiggy bag.
Rizwana told news agency ANI, “I sell disposable cutlery, door-to-door and go to local shops. I used to carry the stuff in a bag which got damaged. Then I bought this ‘Swiggy’ bag.” Bought for Rs 50.
Her husband, a rickshaw puller, left her three years ago. Rizwana is the mother of four children and her eldest daughter got married two years back.
Now, Rizwana has the sole responsibility of earning a living for herself and three other children – Bushra (19 years), Nashra (7 years) and her son Mohd Yasin.
Talking to ANI, Rizwana said that working was very important for her as she wants her children to study.
“I have recently enrolled my younger daughter in a school, and will enroll my son next year. Along with the delivery work, I also work as a domestic help to earn more. I walk around 6-7 km, but my total savings at the end of any given day at work is around Rs 60-70,” she said.
