Viral Video: Joe Biden at Cadillac Asks Auto Show Crowd “Having a Ride to Washington?”

According to a report, US President Joe Biden offered to drive the audience from the Detroit Auto Show to Washington, DC in an electric vehicle. newsweek, The President was seated in the high-end Cadillac Lyric, which costs $61,795 (Rs 49 lakh). A video of Mr Biden’s gesture has gone viral on social media. The new generation model shared the stage with the Gasoline at the revived Detroit Auto Show. In a video going viral on social media, Mr Biden is seen driving slowly across the carpet in a convention hall inside a Cadillac, before calling out: “Anyone wanna ride to Washington?”

“Come on, jump in. I’ll give you a ride to Washington,” Mr. Biden is heard saying, after a report asks him, “Is this my Uber? Uber ride?” The US President replied, “It’s an Uber.”

Hours after opening on Wednesday, the Detroit Convention Center was cleared for journalists to secure space for Mr Biden, before test-driving Lyrica to General Motors Chief Executive Mary Barra and other top executives. was congratulated.

According to a White House release, the US president said he liked Lyrica, but took to a particular glow in an orange Corvette he had previously screened.

“He said he was driving it home,” Mr Barra said of the US president’s reaction to the gasoline-powered Corvette.

Mr Biden’s appearance comes just weeks after the US president signed into law major new investments in semiconductor production and combating climate change, giving his Democratic party some momentum in November’s midterm elections.

While gasoline-powered cars still dominate American roads, the Detroit auto giant has unveiled more EVs as they seek to take control of a growing market from Tesla and new upstarts.
