The eagle had swooped in to catch the mountain goat grazing on the side of the hill.
Social media is flooded with videos, which often leave users by surprise. And the clips which go massively viral are often re-shared on different platforms. Like an eagle hunting a mountain goat. Eagles usually fly very high in the air and have the ability to see for miles. And the grip strength of about 750 pounds per square inch (stronger than the jaws of a lion) makes these flying raptors a truly ferocious killer. Birds of 3.5 feet long have a wingspan of up to eight feet.
So, when such a mighty bird swooped in to catch a mountain goat, which was walking on a rough terrain, it turned out to be a stunning video.
But in this video the animal living on the ground made an unimaginable attempt to get out of the clutches of the eagle. On the verge of losing its final battle against the bird, the goat threw itself down a mountain in its last attempt to survive, as can be seen in the video that aired on Reddit.
Both the hunter and the victim fell from the cliff and came down. There were moments when it looked like the eagle would fly away with the goat, but eventually, the bird had to release the goat. Another mountain goat is seen incessantly chasing the hawk for the help of its friend.
The 57-second video has been shared on the ‘Demonthat’s Interesting’ sub-reddit and has garnered nearly 7,000 upvotes. After watching the video, users have given different reactions.
“That eagle went for one hell of a ride,” said one user. Another said, “The goat really knew what it was doing! I’m sure the eagle was trying hard to let go, but its claws were tangled.”
In some countries of the world, such as Kyrgyzstan, people still follow the tradition of eagle hunting, where birds of prey are sent on a hunt to kill small to medium-sized prey such as foxes and jackals.
