Virat Kohli was on Tuesday dismissed for a rare golden duck against Lucknow Super Giants as the former Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper’s lean patch continued in the ongoing IPL 2022. Batting first, Kohli has already walked to the DY Patil Stadium, Mumbai pitch. Over after the dismissal of RCB opener Anuj Rawat. Facing the sixth ball of Dushmantha Chameera, Kohli tried to move the LSG bowler to the off side but was caught by Deepak Hooda at backward point. The 33-year-old cricketer, who is known for his distinctive “shocked” reaction after being undone, could only manage a strange smile.
Surely, IPL fans yearning to see Kohli play the big innings took to Twitter to express their disappointment. Many others found solace in the memes as “Virat Kohli” became the top-trending hashtag on the Bluebird app.

This was the fourth instance where Kohli was dismissed for a golden duck in the IPL as the last time was against KKR in 2017 when Nathan Coulter-Nile got him out on the first ball.
However, Royal Challengers Bangalore secured their fifth win in the current tournament when captain Faf du Plessis took the lead and scored a scintillating 96 for which he later earned the player of the match award. RCB posted a prime score of 181/6. In reply, Lucknow Super Giants could score 163/8, 18 runs short of the target. All-rounder Krunal Pandya scored 42 off 28 for LSG.
