India’s white-ball captain Rohit Sharma on Tuesday said that Virat Kohli knows how to handle pressure and all will be well if the media stops scrutinizing the former captain’s batting form.
Notably, Kohli managed only 26 runs in three ODIs against West Indies earlier this month.
Asked how captain and head coach Rahul Dravid will tackle Kohli’s inconsistent form, Rohit said, He said, ‘I think it will start with you guys (media). If you guys can keep quiet for a while, Virat Kohli will be fine and everything will be handled.
“He is in a great mental place, and he has been a part of international cricket for over a decade, when someone who has spent such a long time in international cricket, they know how to handle pressure situations. I think It all starts with you guys, if you can keep it a little quiet, everything will be fine.” Rohit said during the virtual press conference.
India and West Indies will face each other in three T20Is starting on Wednesday and the T20 World Cup 2021 will focus on India’s brand of playing cricket, with the gloom. The Men in Blue also need to develop a core nucleus that will play for them. Australia in T20 World Cup 2022.
Asked if the Men in Blue would like to give the game to everyone in the team, Rohit said: “Yeah, the idea is to identify the players who are going to play the World Cup, try and give them game time. There are a lot of players who are injured, come the World Cup, I don’t know who is going to be fit, So all we have to do is prepare everyone for any eventuality.”
