Communist Party of India (CPI) state assistant secretary JV Satyanarayana Murthy has alleged that the meager allocation of funds in the Union budget to North Andhra, especially the Visakhapatnam-headquarters South Coast Railway (SCOR) region, is an indication. Injustice done to the sector by the Union Finance Minister.

On this issue, the CPI staged a sit-in near the Divisional Railway Manager’s office on Friday.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Satyanarayana Murthy said that two years have passed since the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the construction of the Regional Headquarters was submitted by the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of the SCO R, but no Remedy was not taken regarding starting the construction work. He also decried the meager allocation in the budget for the SCO R zone and for completing the Polavaram project.

He also wondered how Adani, who was ranked 630 among India’s richest people when Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, could rise to the top in just five years. This was an indication of the encouragement given to them by the Modi government. He demanded an inquiry into the assets acquired by Adani, punishment of the guilty and nationalization of assets owned by the Adani group.

Party’s district secretary M. Pidiraju, party leader A. Vimla, S.K. Rahman, C. Chandrasekhar and C.N. Kshetrapal was among those who participated in the protest.
