Volkswagen India has already received over 12,000 bookings for the Taigun compact SUV
Volkswagen India today launched the all-new Taigun compact SUV in India. The company has said that it has already received over 12,000 pre-launch bookings for the SUV, and with the prices, it is now ready for the festive demand. Speaking to carandbike at the launch of the new VW Taigun, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen India Said that the company will ramp up production from October 2021, and reach maximum production by December 2021.

Commenting on the company’s production plan for Taigun Gupta said, “The production will pick up from October, we already have good production coming in September, and we will start the deliveries from today. From October, the festive season starts. The reason being, we enter a ramp-up phase and we have a good amount of production available. December is when we are approaching the peak of our production, so the production plan has just been drawn up, so all is looking good. Huh.”

Talking about the delivery and waiting period, VW India Head said, “In terms of customer service, it should be about transparency. The demand is much higher than the supply right now from my production plan, so we have to Must ensure that the customers are well informed about the delivery timelines.We will certainly spare no effort in ensuring that the delivery is as quick as possible.But this is a great deal for our network. The clear message is that we have to go into the priority order of booking and then give a very clear timeline to our customers. We will make sure.”

The new Volkswagen Taigun is offered in a total of 7 variants and is priced from ₹ 10.50 Lakh to ₹ 17.50 Lakh (ex-showroom, India). The SUV comes with two turbocharged petrol engine options – 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine. Both come mated to a 6-speed manual with an optional 6-speed automatic torque converter mated to the 1.0-litre motor and an optional 7-speed DSG automatic for the more powerful 1.5-litre model. In India, the SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Skoda Kushaq.
