British commentator and journalist Isabel Westbury and Indian cricketer VR Vanitha became involved in an intense war of words between India’s women’s tour of New Zealand. After the Indian team lost by three wickets in the second ODI, a rift came on ODI captain Mithali Raj.
Mithali Raj, who scored back to back half-centuries in the first two matches of the five-match series, was criticized by Westbury via a Twitter post, with the latter writing, “Mithali Raj is the best and worst thing about Indian. Cricket now.”

In response to this, Vanitha writes, “There is only ‘best’ in this. Instead of worrying so much about Indian cricket, it would be a world good for you to worry about England. He was defeated by the Australian team.”

“Cool cool, I disagree. Surely that’s okay? Emo Mithali is one of the best of both but totally unsuitable for India’s progress. And I’m certainly allowed to hold that opinion?

“Sorry, just asking how many international games have you played? Couldn’t find your stats on Wikipedia. You still can’t get rid of your colonial mentality of telling India what to do. Put yourself together Meet Brit!!,” she said.
