New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Revealed on Saturday that the party had offered the BSP chief Mayawati The post of Chief Minister before the recently concluded Uttar Pradesh elections.
Speaking at a book release, “The Dalit Truth”, Gandhi alleged that Mayawati did not respond to the motion and gave a clear path to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state because of “the CBI, the ED and the Congress”. Pegasus“, reported news agency PTI.
“We gave a message to Mayawati to form an alliance and asked her to become the chief minister. She didn’t even talk to us,” Gandhi said.
He said, “I respect people like Kanshi Ramji. He gave blood and sweat to awaken the voice of Dalits in Uttar Pradesh. It is a different matter that Congress suffered during that period but today Mayawati is saying that I I won’t fight for it.”

Pointing to the state of the country’s economy, Gandhi said, “It is time to fight.”
The BSP got only one seat out of 403 in the recently held assembly elections, while it got 19 seats in 2017.
