Former India cricketer Wasim Jaffer has suggested that England should have planned a tri-series with India and South Africa instead of bilateral matches.

England is currently hosting India for a limited overs series from July 7 to 17. England will then play an all-format series against South Africa from 19 July to 12 September, consisting of three ODIs, three T20Is and three Tests.

“South Africa are in England. Their ODI series will start on July 19. The England vs India ODI series ends on July 17. I think it could have been a really good tri-series. Would have been great for the fans as well. Tri-series > bilateral. #ENGvIND,” tweeted Jaffer.
