Watch: Bureaucrat shares inspiring story narrated by Amitabh Bachchan, internet reaction

Mr. Bachchan argues that a person’s greatness is determined by his deep thought and understanding.

The greater the experience, the greater the learning. Sometimes the simplest real-world stories can teach you important lessons about life. One such example of a simple story narrated by the host of the Hindi film Superstar and Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), Amitabh Bachchan, is doing the rounds on the internet. This story was narrated by Mr Bachchan during the KBC show.

The caption of the post shared by IAS officer Avneesh Sharan on Twitter on Friday read, “Who’s older?”

The theme of Mr Bachchan’s story is how kindness and a large heart are defined. He goes on to tell a story about how, because the number 9 was worth more, he chose to boss around number 8 because it was smaller. The same feature continued with different numbers until it reached number 1.

Seeing this, he went to number zero and sat in a corner. Number 1 told Zero not to be afraid, “I’m not going to kill you,” as he went and sat down next to her. After that, 0 turns into 10. Zero asked number one, “Why did you make me big when everyone else was killing their little one?” Number 1 said, “Bigger is not the one who feels bigger, bigger is what makes others bigger.”

Mr Bachchan argues that a person’s greatness is determined by his deep thinking and understanding, not by his status, strength or age.

Since being shared, the video has collected over 7.5 lakh views and over 27,000 likes. More than 5,500 users re-shared the post, and many poured heartfelt comments in the comment area of the post. Some users also thanked Mr. Sharan for sharing this motivational story.
