A heartwarming video captures the moment the final London Marathon runner crossed the finishing line amid cheers and applause. According to BBCThe runner has been identified as Tom Durnin, who completed the 26.2-mile (42 km) run in 8 hours, 10 minutes and 58 seconds.

It can be seen in the video that exhausted runners stumble as they cross the finish line, amidst a cheering and enthusiastic reception from the crowd that stayed till the end of the event. Someone off-camera can be heard saying, “Well done, Mate! You did it”, while Mr Durnin was seen posing for pictures.
Netizens praised his hard effort and were thrilled to see him finish the race. One user wrote, ‘Well done to this person. He wasn’t last, he beat everyone else who’d never run a marathon – myself included. Salute him!

Specifically, Mr. Durnin was raising money for bone cancer research trust charity, âHere I am, taking up the London Marathon 2023 challenge and raising vital funds for The Bone Cancer Research Trust through Freddy’s Future. I’m in full training now and trying to get as fit as I can through every session, which isn’t usually my thing, I’ll be honest,” reads a note on the campaign page.
