Several videos of the incident shared on social media showed the head of the 45-foot-tall Maleficent dragon engulfed in flames, which then spread to its body. Flames could be seen rising high into the sky as an announcement was heard in the background.

according to abc 7, the Anaheim Fire Department responded to the fire and no injuries were reported in the incident. The damage caused by the fire could not be immediately ascertained.

Representatives for the Disneyland theme park confirmed that “During the final performance of Fantasmic at Disneyland on Saturday evening, the dragon caught fire.”

“All cast members were safely evacuated from Tom Sawyer Island.” Due to the smoke and wind, attractions near the island were safely evacuated of any guests, and the cause of the fire is under investigation at this time,” the statement continued.
