Shimla Landslide: Himachal has been receiving heavy rains and has also resulted in landslides.
A landslide has caused a block on National Highway 5 in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh that connects Firozpur in Punjab with Shipki La on the India-China border.
The State Emergency Operation Center said that no loss of life or property was reported in the landslide at Jeori near Rampur.
In a video shared on social media by Himachal Traffic, Tourist and Railway Police, a large tract of land is seen slipping down the slope. Boulders can be seen falling down the slope amidst a cloud of dust. Some vehicles appear to have narrowly escaped as they appear to be on the edge of the point where the landslide occurred.

The State Emergency Operation Center said, “DPCR has informed that a landslide incident has occurred near Jyori-Sub-Division Rampur of District Shimla due to which the NH-05 road has been blocked. or property damage is not reported.” According to news agency ANI, a bulletin.
The district administration has directed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Rampur and a police team to assess the situation.
