WATCH: Physics teacher uses equation to find color of falling bear, internet is in disbelief

The process used by the teacher has left the internet in disbelief.

In a video doing the rounds on social media, Nikhil Anand, who teaches science, maths and other subjects on YouTube, Instagram and other social media platforms, used a math equation to determine the color of a “falling bear”. The process used by the teacher has left the internet in disbelief.

In a video shared by a user on Twitter, Anand is solving the equation, which reads, “A bear falls from a height of 10 meters in √2 seconds. What is the color of the bear?” For many of us this question seems almost impossible to solve. However, Mr. Anand actually had an answer. According to him, the calculated value of gravity is equal to the gravitational force felt at the Earth’s poles, so the bear is undoubtedly a polar bear. Therefore, the bear would be white in colour.

Since being shared, the video has garnered over three lakh views and over four thousand likes on the microblogging platform.

One user said, “I thought he was joking but the man really solved it (I thought he was joking but the man really solved it)”.

“Yeah they solved it and the answer was g=10 and polar area m g=10 so the bear’s color is white,” said another user.

A third user commented, “White, polar bear. g is 10 which occurs at the poles. About 10 years ago, when I attempted this question, I said: red, because after falling from a height of 10 meters , the beer will be mostly in the blood.” The teachers were super impressed, but the calculations prevailed over common sense.

“This white polar bear question has been popular for at least 12 years,” said another person.

“This question was assigned to me 19 years ago. As I was told the solution after 2 days of attempt, it changed the way I look at questions and analyze things forever in my life. I was in 9th standard ,” said another person.
