WATCH: Samsung’s “On The Fence” Commercial Pokes Fun At Apple

Samsung has ridiculed iPhone users in its new ad.

The brand war between the world’s two largest smartphone makers Samsung and Apple is not new. For as long as we can remember, both tech giants have engaged in “brand war” campaigns. Their rivalry has become iconic, and it is always present in any technical discussion.

Samsung recently launched a new campaign to promote its Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphones, which make fun of Apple’s iPhone.

Samsung’s new ad mocks iPhone users and asks them to switch to their Android phones as Apple always waits for its users to offer useful features that are already available in many Android-based phones.

The 30-second ad aired on Samsung’s US YouTube channel with the caption, “It’s time to get off the fence.” It shows a man sitting on an actual fence and admiring what’s available on the other side, with two men (showing iPhone users) discouraging him from doing so.

Meanwhile, news agency PTI has reported that Samsung and Apple will upgrade the software for their 5G-enabled phones in India in November or December, as the government allows smartphone makers to quickly upgrade their hardware for high-speed networks. inspired to do.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services with much fanfare on October 1, with major telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio outlining plans for a rollout of services in select cities.

But most users in those select cities are yet to get 5G services due to poor networks and painful delays caused by smartphone companies pushing required software patches over-the-air.

With 5G not only enabling faster internet, but also promising to spur faster economic growth and job creation, the government wants companies to crack down now. And many companies are starting to line up.

Apple said in a statement that it will begin rolling out the 5G software update for iPhone users in December. The upgrade will cover models including the iPhone 14, 13, 12 and iPhone SE.
