Watch: Street vendor sells alcohol-cooked Rajasthani mutton, stuns the internet

Authentic curries are the star of Indian cuisine. Butter Chicken, Paneer Butter Masala, Aloo Curry or Chicken Curry – whatever curry you eat, it is prepared in a different way. But one thing that is common is the rich taste of Indian spices and their heavenly aroma. You must have seen many videos on social media showing street food vendors selling traditional food but you might not have come across something unique like this. A video of a street vendor cooking Rajasthani mutton with alcohol is going viral on the internet.

The video was posted on the Instagram handle ‘therealharryuppal’. The video shows a street vendor cooking Rajasthani food mutton Curry with wine. You can see the vendor is holding a bottle of liquor which he mixes in Teja and Kasoori Methi along with lots of spices. They say that the bottle contains 37.5 percent alcohol. He starts by adding oil to a hot pot, then adds raw spices, chopped onions and 10 kilos of mutton. further, he adds 3 kg garlic puree and gives it a good mix. Not only that, he adds a mixture of wine and spices to the main pot and cooks it with the meat.

Above the video, the Instagram user wrote, “Do pag+mutton leg”.

Instagram users couldn’t stop sharing their views on this street vendor’s unique way of making mutton curry. One user wrote, ‘Heat evaporates the alcohol, what’s the use of pouring it?’

While another user commented, “Onion will not be enough in Rajasthani.” (Rajasthani dish does not use that much onion)

Another user shared that he could not control his craving for mutton after watching the video; The user commented, “Arre yeh sab video mat dala karo…Raha nahi jata mutton ka naam sun karo.”
