Watch: Street vendors of Lucknow make fried ice cream pakodas

Street food vendors in India have been experimenting with popular foods and coming up with their own versions of the food. They are sometimes exciting, sometimes weird and sometimes unfathomable. Recently, we saw a Delhi street vendor making karela pakoda, another serving egg pizza in kulhad and calling it egg curry. Instead of grilling chokha, a street vendor in Raipur deep-fried and a man in Agra came into limelight for serving beer chowmein. Are you gasping already? Wait till you read about this street vendor serving fried ice cream!

A food blogger posted a video on how to make a street vendor fried ice cream on his Instagram channel ‘eatwithsid’. Street Vendor is located at Chhapwale, Rajajipuram, Lucknow. The video shows the vendor making ice cream pakodas. Don’t believe us? Check out the video here.

Surprising, isn’t it? The video also shows how to make Ice Cream Pakora. The vendor first picks up two ice cream scoops, dips them in batter, wraps them in flour and deep-fries them. He places them on a serving plate, sprinkles chocolate sauce and colored sprinklers on them.

The highlight of the video is when the seller breaks it down Crispy Fritters To show the melting ice cream pouring out. It certainly looks tempting at the moment. But people on Instagram gave a mixed reaction. One comment read, “This is a really nice dessert.” “We should try this,” some tagged their friends. And there were others who disagreed with the invention. Comments such as “Time to leave this planet” and “It’s not ice cream anymore, it’s hot cream fritters.”
