It is a common occurrence for big cats like tigers and leopards to feed on vulnerable animals like deer. However, recently, an unusual sight of a leopard hunting a crocodile has caught the eyes of netizens, who have expressed wonder at the exchange of power dynamics in the animal kingdom.
This 42-second video was shared on Twitter with an account named Figen. “OMG what a power” captioned the user. Within no time the video went viral.

The video shows a leopard, hiding among branches and bushes in the forest, lurking on its prey. Soon the scene turns to water where a crocodile can be seen swimming, making it clear that the leopard has made up its mind to make the crocodile its next victim.
After spotting its prey, the leopard makes a swift and graceful leap over the water. The video further shows a dangerous scuffle between two hunters in the water. However, it is soon discovered that the leopard has succeeded in hunting down its prey.
Holding the crocodile by the throat, the big cat is seen slowly coming out of the green water. Although the crocodile seems to be trying to get out of the leopard’s grip, but in vain. By the end of the video, the leopard manages to drag the crocodile to the ground and disappears among the thick bushes.
The video has garnered over 2 million views and over 26k likes.
Twitter has been flooded with fans’ reactions to this video of the hunt. “I never thought that alligators/crocodiles/camens could be prey. And that tiger/lion/ocean (whatever it is) go fishing just like that,” commented one Twitterati.

Another user reported that the leopard was only able to kill its prey because it was a hatchling. “What power?? It killed a baby crocodile. Let’s see how brave Mama is in front of a crocodile,” wrote the user.
However, this is not the first time a predator has been seen hunting a fellow hunter. In another example, a video shared by National Geographic shows a jaguar pouncing on a crocodile in the water and killing the reptile.
