Rohit Sharma’s gesture for a young fan goes viral as he asks security personnel not to take any action against the kid
Team India Captain Rohit Sharma gave his fans a glimpse of his softer side as a young fan barged into the Raipur pitch to hug the Indian skipper and asked the security personnel not to take action against the kid.
The incident took place on the fourth ball of the 10th over of India’s innings when they were chasing 109 for victory in the second ODI against New Zealand.
On several occasions fans have breached security to invade the pitch and interact with their heroes, with one fan recently invading the pitch to come onto the ground and touch Virat Kohli’s feet.
Similarly, a young kid from Raipur found his way past the security personnel and ran onto the field to hug the Indian captain.

As soon as the youngster hugged Rohit, the security closed in on him too and separated the kid from the Indian skipper, after which he was seen urging the personnel not to take any action against the boy.
A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with fans appreciating the ‘Hitman”s kind gesture.

Meanwhile, Rohit scored a half-century in the second ODI chasing a target of 109, however, he was dismissed for 51 by Henry Shipley.
The Indian skipper had forged a fine partnership with Shubman Gill as they looked to guide the Men in Blue to a comfortable win.

Earlier in the match, the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc as a battery of pace burst from the New Zealand batting lineup.
Mohammed Shami took three wickets, while Hardik Pandya and Washington Sundar also took two wickets each.
Other bowlers also claimed at least one wicket each as the hosts restricted the Kiwis to a total of 108, with Rohit’s decision to bowl first proving to be the right choice.
