The video is going viral on the internet.
The Internet is a storehouse of good things. Often, there are videos that leave people mesmerized or taken aback.
One such video is making waves on the Internet – literally – a giant sea wave is seen touching the clouds. Yes, you read it right. First, watch the video and then we will take a deeper look to explain the natural phenomenon behind it:

As can be seen in the nearly 40-second video, the wave, after reaching its summit, is seen brushing through the cloud-like structure, touching them gently and then coming down.
This is an old video that has resurfaced and has been shared by Buitengebieden on Twitter. The video has got around 7.50 lakh views. But there is a catch.
The video is real, but there are no “clouds” above. They are actually marine aerosols (SSA). SSA is one of the most widely distributed natural aerosols.
According to the website of the United States government’s National Library of Medicine, SSA looks like clouds, but is formed mostly by the bursting of bubbles by the ocean at the air-sea interface.
The website further stated that SSAs form on the ocean surface and can be lowered into the upper troposphere, where they contribute to the global radiation budget.
according to this science directSSA particles play an essential role in atmospheric chemical processes and the Earth’s radiation balance, including albedo, lifetime and extent, by altering cloud properties and directly scattering solar radiation.
The SSA is studied in its freshly emitted state for accurate model calculations of climate impacts.
