The India Meteorological Department on Sunday issued a warning of heavy to very heavy to very heavy rain and thundershowers in the state till September 9 for Maharashtra.

Orange alert, which is valid till September 9, has been issued for 4 districts including Nashik, Pune, Satara and Ratnagiri.

“In view of the formation of a Low Pressure Area over North and adjoining Central Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours and other associated synoptic features, Maharashtra is likely to experience active rainfall during the next 4-5 days,” IMD said. said.

Better rainfall is expected over the region with heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Konkan.
