Reddit has become a popular platform for employees to share their job struggle, office experiences and workplace concerns. Various sub -classes have emerged as communities where employees can share their stories anonymously, consult, and connect with others who can withstand similar challenges. A Reddit user recently shared his experience of wrongly putting on a performance improvement plan (PIP) in his job in just five months, as he refused to work on weekend and during his holiday. The user who is named ‘IAMSADSOMES1’ describes an atmosphere of a toxic work, where the organization had a six-day workweek, in which managers expect employees to work to complete the tight time limit on Sunday. The user also shared his struggles with time requesting time, highlighting the challenges of maintaining work-life balance in such a demand setup.

After returning from the holiday, the employee found his manager cool and away. Later that day, HR unexpectedly informed them that they were placed on a demonstration improvement plan (PIP) due to the alleged performance. The employee expressed displeasure, questioned the fairness and validity of this action, and highlighted concerns about organizational strength and accountability.
“As expected, I could not work during my EL and when I went back to office yesterday, my manager was very cold and away for me when he came back. By the evening, I received a call from HR that my performance was on all and I was put in the pip,” the user said.
“All this simply because I refused to work during my leaves. It is just a mess that I am not able to understand how it can happen legally. Does organizations have such power that they can feel what they can do? As an employee, do I have no legal support to deal with such harassment and toxicity, which is not a legal support by this company?” The user added.
The post obtained significant traction, received several upvotes and increased a subsidiary response. Many users expressed resentment and offered advice words, while some shared their own experiences with workplace poisoning. One user wrote, “Name and shame is ashamed to such a company and that shit manager. Those managers deserve a full opportunity. I want the manager to be fired and begging for the job.”
Another comment, “It is difficult to change the jobs, especially when you are only 5 months old, I, N but it’s only a permanent solution that I know. I don’t have much to add, but I think you should start looking regardless.”
One third said, “Nothing will ever work. Your hierarchy is flawed, and people are already slaves. They don’t want you to disrupt their flow and the so -called command series. For your benefit. Looking for better opportunities. Looking for better opportunities. Where you can breathe and get some value about your pipe.
