West Bengal Board 12th Exam Dates Changed

HS will now be on April 2, 4, 5 and then on April 16 and onwards. No exam will be held between April 6 to 15: Mamata Banerjee

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has changed the schedule of class 12 board examinations due to the by-elections. Bypolls in Asansol and Ballygunge will be held on April 12. Talking to the media, Banerjee said, “HS will now be on April 2, 4, 5 and then on April 16 and onwards. There will be no examination between April 6 and 15.”

The class 12 board exams were scheduled to be held from April 2-26.

Earlier, Banerjee had said, “Higher secondary examinations are approaching but the bypoll dates are matching with the examinations. There may be change in the dates of examinations. Let me see, I’ll discuss it.”

TMC has fielded Shatrughan Sinha from Asansol seat and Babul Supriyo from Ballygunge seat. The CPI(M) has named Saira Shah Halim from Ballygunge and Partha Mukherjee from Asansol. The BJP has not yet revealed the names of its candidates.

The bypoll was necessitated in the Asansol constituency as Babul Supriyo had resigned as a BJP MP after joining the TMC. Bypolls are going to be held in Ballygunge seat as sitting MLA and Minister of State Subrata Mukherjee died in November last year.
