The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), arrested in the West Bengal teacher recruitment scam, has made the first arrest on August 10.
CBI has arrested Shanti Prasad Sinha, former advisor of School Service Commission (SSC) and Ashok Saha, former chairman of SSC.
The arrest comes after former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee and a woman Arpita Mukherjee were arrested by the probe agency in connection with the case.
Earlier, the court had sent Arpita Mukherjee and former West Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee to judicial custody till August 18 in connection with the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment scam.
The hearing ended on behalf of both the parties including Arpita Mukherjee and Partha Chatterjee.
The ED has claimed to have unearthed several disproportionate assets of Partha Chatterjee since his arrest, including three flats in West Bengal’s Diamond City. ED officials have also claimed to have recovered 50 crore cash including jewellery.

ED officials also raided the residence of the businessman in Ballygunge, believed to be an aide of Minister of State Partha Chatterjee. (ANI)
