Kathmandu: A passenger vehicle carrying a newly wed couple and some people of the wedding skidded off a mountainous road. Western Nepal Eight people died and five others were injured on Saturday, police said.

“At least eight people were killed and five others were injured in the accident,” a senior police officer said.
Six people died on the spot and two others died during treatment at the local hospital.
“Five people including the bride and groom were injured in the incident,” the official said.
Similar accidents are common in western Nepal during winters due to dense fog and slippery roads.
In November last year, a passenger bus skidded off a road in western Nepal, killing at least 12 people and injuring around 20.
