New flights of Air India: Air India’s newly appointed CEO-MD Campbell Wilson has said that the future of Air India is going to be very bright, while asked about the airline’s plans to increase its fleet, but did not give a direct answer.

Meanwhile, with an aim to boost connectivity between major metro cities, Air India has already started 24 additional domestic flights from August 20.

Most of these flights will be deployed on routes to metro cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai.

While Air India will add two new frequencies from Delhi to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad and Mumbai to Chennai and Hyderabad, a new frequency will also be added on the Mumbai-Bengaluru route and the Ahmedabad-Pune route.

“The additional 24 flights include Delhi to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad and Mumbai to Chennai and Hyderabad as well as a new frequency on the Mumbai-Bengaluru route and Ahmedabad-Pune route,” the airline said. Statement.

Commenting on the network expansion, Campbell Wilson, MD & CEO, Air India said, “This expansion strengthens connectivity between major metros, and improves connectivity between Air India’s domestic and international networks. Over the months, Air India has been working closely with its partners to bring the aircraft back into service, and we are glad that this effort is now bearing fruit.”

Air India’s narrowbody fleet currently consists of 70 aircraft, of which 54 are currently serviceable.

The remaining 16 aircraft will progressively return to service in early 2023.
