OnePlus 11 is launched in India this month
The OnePlus 11 is the latest flagship from the company which is now available in markets like India.
The OnePlus 11 has been launched in various markets this month, and it has made a good impression overall. But this week, we have a review from a guy who’s known a lot about the company since its early days.
Carl Pei, former co-founder of OnePlus and now founder of Nothing, has reviewed the OnePlus 11, giving us his insight into the product, what works for the device, and even the features it will feature. highlighted ones that are better or comparable to their own Nothing phone ( 1 ) devices. The 12-minute long video is easy to understand, and we must say that Carl does a good job of wearing the reviewer’s hat. His earlier review of the iPhone 14 garnered over a million views and may have spurred interest to review the OnePlus device.
Starting with the design, he mentioned that the phone is beautiful and will appeal to a lot of buyers. He also touches upon the deceptively thin edges and the multi-layer camera module at the back. He then notices the size of the power button and compares it to the Nothing phone (1) and clearly the difference is quite noticeable.
Karl was also asked about his experience with the OnePlus 11’s performance and camera quality. For which he has a lot of good stuff to share. He says the Hasselblad tuning delivers sharp and detailed images and he’s pleased to see the company hasn’t packed the usual 2-megapixel macro sensor.
Using the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset means it gets top-notch performance and is ideal for gamers. He also talks about the differences in the hardware of the OnePlus 11 and the Nothing Phone (1), which according to him is better suited for light gaming due to the Snapdragon 778 chipset.
When it comes to the cameras, he felt that the primary sensors of both the phones are on par. But things got really interesting when talking about the software running on the OnePlus 11. He says this is his first time using the new OxygenOS which is built on the ColorOS codebase. Carl immediately dismissed the change and questioned the need to make drastic changes to working software. He also talked about some aspects of the UI, which he claims were designed with Chinese characters in mind.
Carl ends the OnePlus 11 review by saying that it is a great phone but he is not sure about the identity of the device. That refers to software tweaks, frequent changing of camera modules, removing and then putting back the alert slider, and few more.
