WhatsApp feature once seen gets new update: Here’s everything you need to know

New Delhi: Meta-owned WhatsApp makes tremendous changes to its features from time to time for the tech-savvy users. The instant messaging platform is improving its one-time-view messages feature. Last year, WhatsApp unveiled its disappearing message function. According to WABetaInfo, the messaging platform has recently updated this feature. Beta testers can now access the modified missing messages in this section.

This feature enables SMS messages to disappear for unregistered users after a predetermined time. According to the source, the missing message account area has been improved in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.22.24.9, allowing users to control the duration of the feature. Beta testers can download and install the update from the Play Store.

The new update adds a new option to define the default message timer for brand-new chats, as well as set a time limit for currently ongoing discussions. It will be easy for you to apply the default message timer to new chats and to set timers for already active discussions.

It was always possible to select a large number of ongoing chats and identify them as disappearing threads to prevent misinformation, but WhatsApp is now making it easier to do so. Users can specify a set time in the “Default Message Timer” after which all chat messages will expire.

On the other hand, new messages for particular chats with the option “Apply Timer to Chat” will disappear automatically after a predetermined time.
