WhatsApp introduces new interface for voice calls View detailed

In a bid to enhance the user experience of its platforms for its wide base of users across the globe, instant messaging application WhatsApp has unveiled its latest feature which is a tweak to its voice call interface. WABetaInfo reports that this version 22.5.0.70 has a new interface when making voice calls. Currently, this redesign is being released to some beta testers.

Additionally, WhatsApp is improving its interface for group calls, and the app recently rolled out Visible Waves for audio messages. It is also now planning to introduce real-time voice waveforms for calls, allowing the caller to know who is talking or who should not leave their microphone.

WABetaInfo reported that WhatsApp is rolling out wallpapers for voice calls, as it is currently not possible to edit them.

Explaining how the latest update works, WABetaInfo reported, “WhatsApp is enabling a new interface when making voice calls! WhatsApp has enabled a new interface when making voice calls in the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.5.4 update, but the feature was not ready to be rolled out to iOS beta testers. A few hours ago, WhatsApp released a compatible update that brings the feature to some iOS beta testers!”

“WhatsApp has redesigned the interface for when you are in a group call. A similar redesign is also available when you make a simple voice call, as announced in a previous article when the feature was under development. If the new interface is enabled, people can also view real-time voice waveforms. In addition, the redesign includes a wallpaper voice call, which cannot be edited at this time.”
