WhatsApp Is working on several new features for the platform and one feature that has been in the works for quite some time is the Message Reaction feature. Currently, this feature is in the works but it has been seen several times in WhatsApp beta update. It is said to be similar to the message response feature. Facebook and Instagram. On these platforms, users can react to messages containing emoji. According to a latest report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now working on functionality for web users that will allow them to send message feedback.
According to the report, WhatsApp has started rolling out a new update for the desktop client through the official beta channel. The update brings the version of the platform to 2.2207.0.0.1. References to the message reaction feature have been found in the update. As per the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, once this feature is available, you will be able to choose from 6 different emoji to respond to a message. The report shows that you will be able to see a new message response button whenever the cursor is near a message in an individual chat or group. After pressing this button you will get emoji options to respond to messages.
As this feature is still under development, it is not available to the users but the company is expected to roll out this feature soon. WhatsApp has not yet officially given any information about this feature. Previously, the platform was also working on a feature that would allow web users to get notified whenever someone reacts to their message. In an earlier screenshot shared by WABetaInfo, a new one can be seen in the notification settings section under ‘Turn on all feedback notifications’ option. WhatsApp Web users will also soon have a new footer. The footer will indicate that the messages you send or receive are end-to-end encrypted.
