WhatsApp releases first beta update for new Windows app – Times of India

WhatsApp rolled out a new windows app a few weeks ago. The app looks similar to the web version of the platform and is available to download Microsoft Shop. It is based on Universal Windows Platform (UWP), which means it can sync in the background and receive notifications even when it is not running. Now, according to WABetaInfo, the company has released the first beta update of the new app with stability improvements and bug fixes.
According to the report of WABetaInfo, the company is seeking feedback from users about the app. In the previous version a feedback button was available for beta users in the lower left corner. With the update, the app now shows a message to encourage users to respond. “We would like to know your thoughts about this app. Please give feedback using the button on the bottom left” the message reads.
Several users reported glitches in the app while scrolling through conversations and accessing the app’s settings. It was expected that the company would fix this bug with an update but it does not solve the problem.
The Facebook-owned messaging platform has also started rolling out a feature for web users that enables them to create stickers from an image within the platform without using any third-party apps. The platform also offers a bunch of editing tools like Outline. , Emoji, Stickers, Text, Paint and Crop & Rotate and further allows users to modify the image.
As of now, this feature is available only for WhatsApp Web users and there is no information from the company regarding the availability of the feature on other platforms. Earlier, users had to rely on third party apps to create custom stickers from their images.
