Raina has in a way indicated that the left-handed wicket-keeper batsman may not feature in the playing XI against Pakistan.
“He’s an important player. He’s done that (runs first) in Australia. He’s scored centuries there and won the Gabba Test for us. He’s an X-factor because if you look at 1-6, someone Not a lefty batsman,” said Raina in conversation Zee News,

Both Pant and Karthik could also feature in the playing XI, but such a line-up could deprive the Indian team of playing a genuine all-rounder.
