According to The Sun, the coronation ceremony of King Charles III is scheduled to take place on June 3, 2023. King Charles III will be the oldest British monarch to be crowned.

The UK-based publication says the coronation ceremony will take place at Westminster Abbey. King Charles III will become the oldest monarch in British history, having turned 74 at the time of his coronation. Queen Elizabeth II, mother of King Charles III, was crowned on 2 June 1953.

According to tradition, the incoming king would sit on a throne known as Edward’s chair (named after King Charles II in 1661) while wielding the sovereign’s scepter, wand and orb, which is a symbol of the Christian world. The Queen Consort and Charles will then address the country from the balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Charles was proclaimed Emperor of the UK and of the Commonwealth on 10 September before delivering a speech at the Privy Council.

At the time, he partly said, “My mother’s reign was unmatched in terms of dedication and devotion. We thank you for this most faithful life, even as we mourn. I am deeply intrigued by this great legacy and duties.” And the enormous responsibilities of sovereignty that have now been handed over to me.”

He said he would endeavor to “maintain the inspiring example set in the Commonwealth of Nations and territories around the world to uphold the constitutional government and seek peace, harmony and prosperity of the people of these islands.”

Meanwhile, a new family portrait of Britain’s royal family has been unveiled. Buckingham Palace has shared a new photo of King Charles III with Queen Consort Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William and Kate Middleton.

The death of Britain’s longest-reigning monarch comes hours after the palace said the queen was under medical supervision at Balmoral after doctors expressed concern over her health.

His death was followed by 10 days of official mourning and a grand procession of events around the world, culminating in his state funeral in London and his burial in Windsor.
