Where do you store milk in the fridge? know the right place

Almost all of us believe that we are well versed when it comes to keeping things in the refrigerator. Things that are dry and not perishable are generally not kept in the refrigerator, while items that are at risk of rotting are stored inside the refrigerator. Apart from keeping the fruits fresh, the fridge is also used to store milk. But do you have any idea that there are some places in the fridge where you should not keep milk?

Most of you would be surprised to know that the energy consumption of a refrigerator is greatly influenced by the locations you choose to store the food items.

Chris Beasley of Smart Cover, a home insurance company, talks in detail about the right places for different food items in the fridge.

According to Chris Beasley, most people store milk in the refrigerator door, but this may not be the best place to keep milk fresh for a long time.

Chris explained that the door compartments are hotter than the rest of the refrigerator. If you find that your refrigerator is not able to keep your milk fresh for long, try storing it in the main storage area instead.

He also added that condiments and sauces have longer shelf lives and don’t need to be stored at a specified temperature, so they should be fine in the door or on the top shelf of the fridge.

He recommends keeping bottled drinks inside the refrigerator as it is more easily stored there.

Talking about the right places for meat and fish products, Chris said that such products should be stored in the coldest part of your fridge.

Chris also said that people fill their refrigerators with more and more things thinking that this way they are making maximum use of the refrigerator. However, this should not be done as it obstructs the movement of air inside the refrigerator and prevents the cold air from reaching the different compartments of the refrigerator.
