White Oak Capital Group gets SEBI nod to become sponsor of Yes Mutual Fund

White Oak Capital Group on Thursday said it has sought registration of Securities and Exchange Board of India’s (SEBI) subsidiary GPL Finance & Investments Ltd as a mutual fund sponsor and for change in control of Yes Asset Management (India). Approval has been received from Himself Bank Ltd.

After obtaining all regulatory approvals, GPL Finance will now initiate transfer of the Mutual Fund business from Yes Bank to become the sponsor of Yes Mutual Fund. The transaction is expected to close in the next few weeks.

Ashish P Somaiya, who will take over as CEO of AMC after the completion of the transaction, said, “We continue to build an experienced team of industry professionals who leave no stone unturned to provide the best investment products to retail investors. White Oak Capital Group provides investment management and advisory services for equity assets of more 40,000 crore as per the company release. In addition to individually managed accounts for major global institutions, White Oak provides investment services to individual and institutional investors in India and around the world through a wide range of fund vehicles residing in India, Ireland, Mauritius and the UK.
