St. Kitts| With the dress rehearsal for India’s final front, the World T20 World Cup underway, the team management is trying out different combinations for different positions and different match situations. Many youths have been given opportunities and Rohit SharmaThe led Indian side is trying to determine the best possible eleven which will increase their chances of winning the multi-nation cricket event.
India currently take on West Indies for the 5-match T20I series, which are now tied at 1-1. India continued their dominance and defeated West Indies in the first T20I. India were very good to the hosts and their aggressive style of gameplay left the hosts nervous. West Indies returned the favor and they beat India by a margin of 5 wickets in the second T20I. The two-time T20I world champions West Indies, led by Nicholas Pooran, also have a lot of issues to address and would like to sort them all out before heading to Australia for the World Cup.
India’s bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has openly said that he is looking at the West Indies series as an opportunity to spot potential talent in the team’s bowling attack for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia.
,It is part of our preparation for the (T20) World Cup. Right now, we are looking at the various options that we have and allowing young people to find out what works for us. This type of planning is easy to do. Very happy with the ability he has shown. In the last few matches we have played, Arsh and Avesh have shown their ability to perform under pressure and that is something I am very happy with. What impresses me the most is how much they want to learn and improve every day. When you are a coach, it is a two-way communication. This makes it easier to interact with the bowlers and vice versa. Yes, we’ll try different things, different players”, said coach Mhambrey.
As India take on West Indies in the third T20I, the experiment will continue but India will have one eye on the prize, a series win on Caribbean soil.
