As soon as the winter season approaches, only one thing remains in everyone’s mind, Gond ka pudding. It is usually made for wedding ceremonies, and is a very popular Rajasthani sweet. This pudding is delicious and nutritious too. When you eat this dessert, it fills you up with the energy you need for the day. What better recipe to ask for to please your sweet tooth. So, here we bring you a confectionery style gond halwa recipe which you can easily make at home.

But first, you’ll need a few items from your pantry to get started. Here is a list of ingredients you will need to make delicious Gum Pak Halwa:

2 cups coarse whole wheat flour

1 cup gum

half cup poppy seeds

300 grams pure desi ghee

1/2 cup mawa/malai

2 cups grated coconut

250 grams sugar

5-6 crushed black peppercorns

ten cashews

ten almonds (chopped)

how to prepare-

To make Gum Pak Halwa, first heat ghee in a pan on medium heat. When the ghee melts, add a little gum to it and cook it while making gum flowers. Please keep in mind that keeping all the gond together can cause it to stick together.

Once the gum flowers are made, put them in a separate dish. After that add chopped almonds and cashews in the same ghee and fry them quickly. This will develop the aroma and taste of cashews and almonds better.

Take a vessel for making sugar syrup and fill sugar in it. After this, add 1.5 glasses of water to the sugar. Put the vessel on the gas and heat it. Please remember that we only need to prepare one wire syrup.

When the sugar syrup is being prepared, brown the wheat flour in a pan on high flame. Coarse flour is used in gum pudding because wheat flour is not sticky when mixed with gum. When the flour turns brown, add ground black pepper and mawa, mix well and bring to a boil. However, if you do not have mawa available at home, you can use cream as a substitute.

After mixing the mawa or cream in the halwa, add poppy seeds and a cup of coconut powder. This will enhance the taste of the halwa and give a lovely aroma.

After that, add sugar syrup to the wheat flour and gum mixture and mix well. Add cashew nuts, almonds and remaining coconut powder. Now, using a ladle or your hands, mix all the ingredients gently. After this keep it in a tray to cool down for a few hours.
