Winter Olympics 2022: Russian athlete affected by Kovid criticizes food served in Beijing

Winter Olympics 2022 is being held in Beijing, China from 4 February 2022 to 20 February 2022. Since the start of the event, China has faced criticism for the rise in COVID cases among athletes and other personnel participating from around the world. The COVID positive participants, who have been sent for isolation, are also reporting serious issues with their quarantine status. Russian athlete Valeria Vasnetsova recently took to her Instagram to share a post describing the situation. Valeria alleged that the food being served to athletes at the Games was “eatable” and “impossible” to eat. His Instagram account has now become private.

However, several people took a screenshot of Valeria Vasnetsova’s post and uploaded it to Twitter, criticizing the organizers of the Winter Olympics 2022. A Twitter user named Joe Pompliano shared the story (written in Russian) and tweeted: “This photo was posted by Russian athlete Valeria Vasnetsova. She says that “Breakfast, Lunch and Night” at the Winter Olympics in Beijing already for five days” same meal has been served.

According to Valeria Vasnetsova’s post, she has been served the same meal for “breakfast, lunch and dinner” for five days in a row. Meals included – Pasta, some potatoes, meat on the bone and orange sauce.

“I’ve been having this for breakfast, lunch and dinner for five days. I’ve lost a lot of weight and my bones are sticking. I can’t eat anything else, I don’t know anything about my corona test, ” read Vasnetsova’s Insta-post (in Russian).

“I only sleep through the day because I don’t have the strength to even get out of bed. I eat only three handfuls of pasta a day because it’s impossible to eat the rest,” she said. Reportedly, several other participants also complained about the “inedible food” being served to them during the quarantine.

According to a report in USA Today, Valeria Vasnetsova’s post was followed by immediate action. His diet was changed and the new plate included salmon, cucumber, sausage and yogurt. Reportedly, he was also given a stationary bike for exercise.
