Woman, daughter beaten with sticks, iron rod in Delhi on CCTV

A group of people brutally thrashed a 38-year-old woman with sticks and iron rods and also thrashed her daughter, police said on Wednesday. The incident took place in a residential colony in Shalimar Bagh last month, he said, adding that two women who led the attack have been arrested.

On November 19, the woman was assaulted along with her daughter.

In her statement, the woman alleged that the attack was carried out by supporters of AAP MLA Bandana Kumari, a charge denied by the politician.

The attack – captured in a CCTV video on a neighboring building – shows two women kicking, slapping and thrashing them with sticks soon after getting out of the car. A group of boys, with sticks in hand, joins them and starts brutally beating the woman in the parking area of ​​her residential colony. Later, the accused fled from the spot when the woman started screaming for help while lying next to her car.

The whole incident happened on 19th November. The woman was discharged from the hospital on Tuesday.

Police say that the women who assaulted have been arrested. He said that the search is on for the rest of the accused.

In her statement, the woman alleged that she was attacked by two women and four men, whom she alleged were supporters of AAP MLA Bandana Kumari.

“On the night of November 19, people known to AAP MLA Bandana Kumari attacked me along with my daughter. The attack was done because I had filed an FIR against the MLA’s husband in 2019. I am going to blame the wrongdoings done by him. Many complaints have been filed against him in the past as well.”

The MLA has denied all the allegations and termed them as “baseless”.

“All these allegations are baseless. She (victim) lives in my neighborhood and it has been her nature, she accuses me every time. I have nothing to do with her or the matter,” Kumari said. Agency PTI.
