Police have arrested a couple in connection with the alleged rape of a 24-year-old woman in AS Nagar on the outskirts of the city. The woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour, while his wife allegedly shot the video from her mobile phone. Women’s police is investigating the matter.
“The victim alleged in her complaint that the accused took her to his house and committed the crime a few days back. VV Naidu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), Mahila Police Station said that the accused was allegedly threatening her to upload videos on social media platforms unless she had physical relations with her friends.
A case has been registered under IPC sections 376(2), 354 (b and d) and other sections. Police Commissioner Kanti Rana Tata said on Wednesday that the accused have been arrested and investigation is on.
