Woman recalls meeting Shah Rukh Khan as child, wins hearts online

The user said that she met Shah Rukh Khan in 2001 during the shooting of ‘Ashoka’.

Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release ‘Pathan’ has been showering love on him ever since its release in the theatres. Not only this, the film has broken many box office records. His wit and charm are appreciated by many people across the world. Recently, a Twitter user shared the story of her childhood encounter with Shah Rukh Khan and the internet was left in awe.

User Rudrani tweeted, “As #Pathan roars at the box office, time to share once again when I met him as a child and he turned out to be a kind and gentle man.” The original post was shared on the actor’s birthday, November 2, 2021.

Rudrani said on Twitter that she had met the actor in 2001 during the shooting of ‘Ashoka’.

“Here’s my Shah Rukh Khan story. Thought about it for a long time before posting but now or never. 2001, I was in 6th grade, volunteering for a school newspaper called The Telegraph in Schools Shahrukh was in Kolkata for ‘Ashoka’. Me and a fellow journalist wanted to interview him!” she wrote.

Furthermore, he added that there was a long queue of people to meet the superstar and they were just two school children. She continued, “It was the longest of the shots. We were two schoolboys with no impact. There was a long line of prominent journalists at The Park Hotel, waiting to meet them. Some opened up in my face laughed it off, an interview superstar..? Well, we had nothing to lose.”

He added that his team said that “it was highly improbable, the best-case scenario was that he would agree to meet for 15 minutes.” His request was accepted but “he gave a 15-minute warning”.

“We came inside. There he was, typing busily on a communicator! He looked at us, smiled and said ‘First, you two tell me your names’. Ha! He talked to us in detail about his life. , treated us like peers and apologized every time his phone rang.”

She said that Shah Rukh was polite, soft-spoken and funny during that interview. Rudrani continued, “And we were kids and there were several journalists waiting outside. He talked to us for 45 minutes. His team was angry but we couldn’t care.”
