Dibrugarh: A senior female cadre of ULFA (Independent), Poornima Bora Alias Mitu Asom was arrested in a joint operation by the Assam Rifles and the local police from the Tinkopani Reserve Forest near the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border. tinsukia District on Sunday.
Tinsukia SP Debojit Deori said Bora had recently left his base camp in Myanmar due to health problems. She was caught when she was trying to enter Tinsukia district via Arunachal Pradesh.
“She is an old cadre of ULFA-I and had joined the terrorist organization in 2000. She belonged to Sarupathar area of Golaghat district. After his arrest, we immediately admitted him to the Civil Hospital in Tinsukia for treatment. His health condition is very bad,” the SP said.
